Tapas Thursday - Bar Las Teresas

Wondering around on a Sunday afternoon is always fun in Spain. Sundays are a leisure day for the Spaniards and also a day to go out and eat, drink, and enjoy the afternoon before returning to an evening at home. It is a great day to spot where all the locals go to get tapas and drinks. On a recent Sunday stroll, we came to Bar Las Teresas and popped into a very busy bar for a few tapas.

Tapas Thursday - Eslava

When we were first researching tapas bars in Sevilla, Eslava came up on numerous searches as one of the "best" in Sevilla, as both a restaurant and a tapas bar side-by-side. It was also recommended by both my Spanish teacher and a friend of ours at school, so after a day trip to nearby Itálica, we headed that way from the bus stop. The mid-February day was perfect for sitting outside in the sun at one of the few hightop tables and enjoying these delicious tapas.

The Beautiful Doors of Marrakech

Here are some photos of doors in Marrakech. They definitely opened the door to my heart to the unknown world of Marrakech!

A Romantic & Relaxing Arab Bath

One step into the Arab baths in Sevilla takes you back to a different time. Hundreds to thousands of years ago people took bathing and relaxation to be part of not only their hygiene, but also as a healthy way of life and it should be an example for us modern day folk. Even back in that time, it was vital to give your body some TLC and relaxation.

Tapas Thursday - Bar Kiko

If you want one of the better deals in Sevilla for lunch, head to Bar Kiko. This extremely small tapas bar is on a small side street in the Alfalfa area and home to a 6.50 euro menú de día, which does not disappoint. When we came to the door of Bar Kiko, the smells poured out and we followed our noses and our stomachs into the small room. One of the women motioned for us to go towards the back where there were a few tables since the bar was full with maybe six people sitting in it. We grabbed a chair and immediately an explanation of the menu of the day was given. For 6.50 euros, you get two plates and a drink.

Tapas Thursday - Bar Antojo

Anyone hungry? My selection for this week's Tapas Thursday is a real find and you better go with an empty stomach. This place is situated on a street past a local favorite hangout, the Plaza de la Alameda de Hércules. When we went for lunch, we were the only non-locals there. The menu at Bar Antojo offered the normal tapas choices, but it also had a few that are unique to only them.
